City Startup Labs (CSL) conducts a Center of Excellence, where African American millennials learn how to research, plan, launch and operate their own venture. The Corners Society partnered with CSL over 4 different
panel style forums where Corners members answered questions and shared their professional experiences with CSL participants.
To ensure that all elementary students develop the strong foundation in math and enthusiasm for academics needed for long-term success, by helping schools use volunteers as tutors. Corners members prepared educational folders including
materials used for tutoring, stickers and other helpful items for the children to use.
Charlotte Family Housing (CFH) is a shelter-to-housing program for families experiencing homelessness. Members of The Corners Society mulched, pressure washed and stained the decks, as well as provided various other landscaping needs to the Elizabeth neighborhood home of CFH.
The Learning Collaborative (TLC) is a comprehensive pre-school program with hands-on involvement between teachers, students, families, patrons and the community. Corners members purchased and packed over 50 book bags for students of TLC, and handed out the book bags at the Kindergarten graduation.
